Also, the department has the role of ensuring that employees understand benefits that they are entitled to. Failure to pay salaries on time can lead to low morale and eventual exit of employees from the company.

The operations of any company are usually guided by labor laws of the country or state. It is the responsibility of the human resource department to ensure that the company operates within the stipulated laws. This is one of the most important responsibilities of the human resource department of a company. The state can instigate legal measures that can lead to fines or even closure of the company if it finds out that said laws are not being followed.
